II. Trainees
We recruit 2 to 4 trainees a year. Interviews will be carried out between April to June every year for trainees to commence their training contracts the following year - we recruit at least one year ahead of our actual requirements. Written tests will be given to those candidates who are invited for the first interview where you will also be required to demonstrate your Mandarin skills. Short-listed candidates will be invited for a second interview. Candidates must possess good command of English, Cantonese as well as Mandarin.
All candidates must complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in Hong Kong and offers to a successful candidate will be conditional on their passing the PCLL examination.
To comply with the requirement of the Law Society of Hong Kong, trainees will be rotated at different departments.
Offer of post-admission employment with the Firm depends upon the trainee's performance and the Firm's requirement by the time of admission.
III. Student Placement
We offer placements to law students between June to September every year on occasionally in December. Applications will be reviewed between April to June each year. No interviews will be required. Candidates who are offered a placement will be contacted during the said period. Students who wish to gain relevant legal experience outside this period may also apply. Preference is given to law students nearing completion of the undergraduate studies.
Students who can spend at least 3 weeks with us will have a chance to work in our 3 major departments namely, civil litigation, commercial and criminal litigation. By working closely with our professional staff, students get to understand more about the actual working environment within the Firm and the different practice areas. Equally, we hope to acquire a better understanding of students who may wish to apply for training contracts with our Firm in the future.
