Experience: Shirley has acted in commercial transactions in a number of Asian jurisdictions including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, initial public offerings as well as industry-specific contractual arrangements and advised on technology-related regulatory issues such as data privacy and online publishing. She has also looked into the potential implications of introducing a cross-sector competition law in Hong Kong. She has represented clients from a broad range of industries including travel, publishing, broadcasting, software, telecommunications and investment banking. Shirley began her career with international law firms in Hong Kong where she had the opportunities of working on various corporate finance and direct investment projects in Beijing, Shanghai and other parts of China. Prior to joining Haldanes, she worked for a multinational corporation in regulatory and corporate affairs.
