Felix Ng spoke at the British Institute of International & Comparative Law symposium in London

Felix Ng represents Haldanes and the International Bar Association Criminal Law Committee to speak in the international criminal law symposium in London hosted by the British Institute of International & Comparative Law (BIICL) in collaboration with University of Sussex.

The specialist symposium held at BIICL featured distinguished academics from University College London, Utrecht University, Queen Mary University of London and University of Sussex, as well as leading practitioners from the European Parliament, Clifford Chance and 39 Essex Chambers. Tickets for the event were sold out with attendance of over 70 delegates from all over the world.

This conference focused on the growing trend to use extraterritorial jurisdiction to apply criminal law across borders, particularly on terrorism, organized crimes, corruption, human right abuses and war crimes. Since the law in this area has not been codified on an international level, it has been left wholly to state practice to regulate, and often lacks clarity, uniformity and consistent application.

After the symposium, Felix attended a competition law seminar at the Law Society of England & Wales and discussed the latest competition cases with various leading Queen’s Counsel.
