Jonathan Midgley speaks at the Criminal Law Conference
Our senior partner Jonathan Midgley was invited to speak in the 2019 Criminal Law Conference on money laundering. “The discussion on Hong Kong’s money laundering legislation was lively, and the event was worthwhile, providing a platform for an exchange of diverse views,” Jonathan commented.
The Secretary of Justice Ms. Teresa Cheng delivered an opening speech welcoming Lady Justice Heather Hallett, Vice President of the Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal of England & Wales, and Julie Read, Chief Executive and Director of New Zealand’s Serious Fraud Office to the Conference as honourable guest speakers.
With its 5th run, the Criminal Law Conference is organized by the Department of Justice, the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Bar Association, bringing together legal practitioners, members of the Judiciary and distinguished guests and featuring international criminal law issues such as cybercrime, money laundering, sexual offence and trafficking in persons.
