Jonathan joined Haldanes as a trainee solicitor in 2016. After qualifying as a solicitor in 2018, he has focused his practice in the firm’s Civil Litigation Department.
He has assisted in a wide range of areas, including contractual disputes, debt recovery, property disputes, shareholder disputes, employees’ compensation and personal injuries. Jonathan also has experience in handling criminal, matrimonial and commercial matters.
His experience includes:
- Advising a listed company on SFC and HKEX investigations and corresponding negligence claim involving the placement of share warrants totalling HK$800 million
- Advising a multinational cosmetics manufacturer on the termination of distribution agreements in the PRC and Korea and negotiating for the return of unsold stock
- Advising the director of a multinational electronics company in resisting a winding-up petition
Jonathan received an economics degree from the University of Southern California and a law degree from University College London. He then studied for the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) at the City University of Hong Kong.
He is fluent in English and Cantonese and advanced in Mandarin.
