Nicholas Hemens has over 40 years of experience in family and matrimonial law, providing professional advice for individuals particularly English-speaking expatriates and American and Canadian-born Chinese. His primary focus is to handling legal issues arising out of the breakdown of marriages and relationships, such as divorce, financial consequences, child issues, judicial separation and pre-nuptial agreements.
Prior to joining Haldanes in 2008, Nicholas was admitted as a solicitor in 1977. After practicing initially in England he undertook a three year period of practice in Hong Kong in the early 1980s and then returned to England and was in practice in his own firm in Cambridgeshire for 20 years. He has always been particularly involved in family law and at one time was Chairman of his local family law group.
He now serves as a member of the Family Law Association Committee and is the Former Chairman of the Hong Kong Collaborative Practice Group which has been instrumental in bringing collaborative practice to Hong Kong.
