Paul Wang attended Chinese Commercial Law & Legal System Course at Peking University, China
In late June 2016, our Associate Solicitor Paul Wang participated in a one-week course co-organised by the Peking University and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government (LOCPG), which was held at the School of Law of Peking University.
The course covered a broad spectrum of Chinese laws, including arbitration law, company law and overview of the Chinese economics, and aims at introducing the legal system of China to the Hong Kong professionals and promoting the cross-border cooperation.
The course is consisted of lectures and visits – the lectures were given by professors of Peking University and judges from Beijing’s Second Intermediate People’s Court, whilst participants were invited to visit the headquarters of Kings & Wood Malleson and China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO), a state-owned enterprise and China’s largest food processing, manufacturer and trader.
The course provided Paul with excellent exposure by meeting prominent figures such as the Dean of the School of Law of the Peking University Mr. Zhang Shouwen, the former head of the Legal Department of the LOCPG Mr. Liu Xinkui and the managing partner of the Global Dispute Resolution Team of King & Wood Malleson Mr Huang Tao.
