Haldanes hosts CPD seminar on market misconduct and regulatory frameworks
In April 2026, Haldanes was delighted to welcome the Plowman Chambers team for an in-depth CPD seminar entitled “Review of Market Misconduct”. The session was expertly moderated by our Partner, Jonathan Midgley.
Participants were provided with a comprehensive analysis of the six statutory market misconduct offences under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), illustrated by significant recent case law. The presentation further examined the procedural interplay between Market Misconduct Tribunal (MMT) proceedings and concurrent civil litigation, with a particular focus on the jurisdictional reach of Section 213 of the SFO.
The seminar underscored the increasing complexity of regulatory enforcement in Hong Kong’s financial markets.
