Haldanes speaks at ACCA Smart Accounting Teaching Conference

Haldanes is proud to announce that our Joint Managing Partner, Nathan Wong, was invited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to attend and speak at The Smart Accounting Teaching Conference, co-organised by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Accounting and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.
Panel Discussion: Ethical and Legal Implications of AI

As an expert in both legal and accounting fields, Nathan participated in the panel discussion titled “Ethical and Legal Implications of AI in Business & Accounting”, moderated by an academic from The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.
The panel examined several critical and timely issues arising from the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, including:
- Copyright risks associated with AI-generated works
- Latest proposed amendments to the Copyright Ordinance
- The text and data mining (TDM) exemption regime
The conference successfully gathered experienced practitioners and scholars from accounting, law, and technology. It provided a valuable cross-disciplinary platform for exchanging insights on how AI is reshaping professional practices and the legal frameworks that regulate them.
