Haldanes delivers community talk on the “three instruments of peace”

Following a kind invitation from The Salvation Army (Hong Kong and Macau Territory), Xenia Lo, Senior Associate in our Civil Litigation team, recently delivered a comprehensive talk on the “three instruments of peace”: Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPOAs), and Advance Directives (ADs).

More about the event

During the session, Xenia explained how these three legal instruments provide essential security and clarity for end-of-life planning. Such preparations are increasingly significant given Hong Kong’s ageing population and the need for robust personal legacy management.

This presentation builds upon her previous engagement in January 2026, where she was invited by the Hong Kong Society of the Aged (SAGE) to speak on the same topic, highlighting the continued importance of these legal tools in effective end-of-life planning.

An Asian Legal Business Young Lawyer 2025 Finalist, Xenia is part of our well-respected team of Civil Litigation lawyers, where the team is recently recognised in the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2026 rankings.

About the practices: Civil Litigation, Private Client, and Wills & Probate

Haldanes offers a highly experienced Civil Litigation & Dispute Resolution team specialising in complex commercial disputes and multi-jurisdictional litigation. For Wills & Probate, we excel in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including the preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney and the administration of estates to provide families with lasting peace of mind. In terms of Fraud and Asset Tracing, we regularly work with forensics accountants, private investigators and law firms from different jurisdictions; collate evidence for the financial crime, embark on asset tracing and freezing assets that represent proceeds of crime and assist our individual and corporate clients for effective asset recovery.

We extend our gratitude to the Salvation Army for their invitation and the coordination from the Yau Ma Tei Multi-service Centre for Senior Citizens. Haldanes looks forward to continuing our mission of empowering the community through legal education.
