Haldanes maintains strong commitment to wills-related community initiatives

Xenia Lo, Senior Associate at Haldanes, delivered an informative talk on the “Three Instruments of Peace” — commonly known in Hong Kong as 平安三寶 — to help members of the public better understand how to protect their wishes and loved ones through proper estate and personal planning.

More about the event

The seminar focused on three essential legal tools that provide peace of mind for individuals and their families: Wills, Advance Directives (ADs), and Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPOAs). Xenia guided participants through the importance, key legal requirements, common pitfalls, and practical benefits of each instrument under current Hong Kong law. The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment.

About Xenia

This was Xenia’s third time delivering a talk on this topic. “An Asian Legal Business Young Lawyer 2025 Finalist, Xenia is part of our well-respected team of Civil Litigation lawyers, where the team is recently recognised in the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2026 rankings”.

Commenting on this event, Nathan Wong (Joint Managing Partner), said, “Xenia’s recurring talks on the ‘three instruments of peace’ truly exemplifies her profound commitment to community outreach and public education. Her dedication reflects our firm’s steadfast resolve to championing and expanding our wills and probate practice.”

About our practices

Haldanes’ Civil Litigation & Dispute Resolution team handles complex commercial disputes and multi-jurisdictional litigation, and was recently recognised in the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Rankings 2026. We are officially listed on the joint panel between the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) here (p.6) for the category of “Commercial Litigation & Cross-border Dispute Resolution”; connecting Chinese enterprises with Hong Kong’s legal services sector (DoJ release; HKTDC release).

In Wills & Probate, we handle both contentious and non-contentious matters, including the preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney and the administration of estates to provide families with lasting peace of mind. In terms of Fraud and Asset Tracing, we regularly work with forensics accountants, private investigators and law firms from different jurisdictions; assisting our individual and corporate clients for effective asset recovery.

We extend our gratitude to the Federation of New Territories Youth for the invitation. Haldanes remains committed to empowering the community through legal education.
